It’s hard to believe that it’s been half a year of having two babies! What a whirlwind. Every day seems to get a little easier, and I feel like we’re at a point where our days have a lot more fun in them instead of just constantly meeting needs (although don’t get me wrong there is still a lot of that happening!). Today I’m sharing a quick little update on each of our boys and, of course, several photos of their adorable little selves!
K is 13 months chronologically, with an adjusted age of 10ish months. He is still ridiculously happy, giggly, and goofy. He is seriously such a fun kid! He doesn’t babble so much as shout, which is honestly kind of hilarious (unless it’s 5am). He loves being outside and will just stare in awe at the sky, trees, flowers, anything. He is learning to clap and wave which is adorable. K is constantly on the move and loves bouncing in the Jolly Jumper or crawling all over the house, getting into things he shouldn’t. We joke that he has some sort of homing device for cords and electronics. Lately he has been an eating machine and is doing a mix of formula, baby food, and soft table foods (he looves scrambled eggs). He sleeps great throughout the night and takes a morning and afternoon nap. Medically he is doing well other than periodic follow-ups with the NICU clinic and weekly physical therapy. We are moving forward in the process of adopting him (!!!), which I hope to share more about soon.

CJ is 6 months and such a doll! Something magical happened around the 5-6 month mark and he suddenly went from being a very fussy/irritable baby to a generally calm and content one. CJ is the sweetest little soul and loves being held, doing tummy time on the playmat, going on walks in the stroller, gazing adoringly at Josh (it’s true), and getting “raspberries” on his belly. One of my favorite things is when he has these little babbling/cooing conversations with us. He is just starting to roll over and do a tripod sit by himself. I am still nursing him and we are planning to start slowly incorporating some baby foods into his diet. He is sleeping decently well at night (usually waking up just once to eat) and then taking 3 naps during the day.

It should also be said that the boys adore each other, and nothing makes me happier than seeing them “play” together. I can’t wait to see their brotherly bond continue to grow. Being a mom is definitely challenging at times, but these two are such a joy and I am so thankful I get to love them! ❤
