I hope you all enjoyed Easter weekend! We had a fun one although it didn’t really feel like Easter to me?! We spent Saturday with Josh’s family for his cousin’s bridal shower and then had a birthday celebration for one of our nieces. On Easter morning we (me, Josh and the boys) went to an early church service and afterward picked up lots of delicious brunch food from First Watch. It was gorgeous out so we spent a good part of the day outside. In the evening two of our friends from community group surprised us by bringing over some smoked pork and a bag of my favorite granola! So thoughtful of them. Also- I couldn’t help but reflect on this time last year when I was 12ish weeks pregnant and K was in the NICU! In his precious little bunny hat! It’s crazy to me how much can change in a year.
Today I wanted to share a quote and a couple photos from our weekend. Have a great week, friends! ❤
“Easter season is a time of hope. There is still fear, there is still a painful awareness of sinfulness, but there also is light breaking through. We can be joyful or sad, optimistic or pessimistic, tranquil or angry, but the solid stream of God’s presence moves deeper than the small waves of our minds and our hearts. Easter brings the awareness that God is present even when his presence is not directly noticed. Easter brings the good news that, although things seem to get worse in the world, the Evil One has already been overcome. Easter allows us to affirm that although God seems very distant and although we remain preoccupied with many little things, our Lord walks with us on the road and keeps explaining the Scriptures to us. Thus there are many rays of hope casting their rays on our life through life.” -Henri Nouwen
