Because it makes me slow down and contemplate creation.
Because sometimes the moon looks like a luminous pearl perched way up there in the sky and I just can’t help myself.
Because I overestimate the powers of my iPhone and think this might be the time the photograph looks just as lovely as the real thing.
Because there’s something so captivating about the juxtaposition of the glorious and the mundane.
Because it reminds me that I am so small, and the universe is so big.
Because it helps me cultivate the habit of delight.
Because I want to share that delight with others later.
Because the photos make my husband laugh and shake his head.
Because there is something worthwhile about the pursuit of beauty.
Because I forget that sometimes, moments are better when they’re simply experienced and not photographed.
