Here & now [a poem]

We harvest what we plant
And reap what we sow
This Kingdom law
Is what makes things grow

I have planted my seeds
In the freshly tilled earth
Now I watch and I wait
For them to give birth

My heart can grow weary
With tending this ground
Until I remember
This is where joy is found

So let us not become tired
Of doing good deeds
Because while we labor
He is growing those seeds

It’s not based on striving
(Though the Spirit makes us strong)
But rather His power
Which has been in us all along

While we work, we can rest
There is no need for strife
For right here and now
Is where we reap eternal life

[Inspired by Galatians 6 and 1 Corinthians 3]
